I was really looking forward to this colour, but it’s just blue. Online, it looked like it had some purple, but in person, it doesn’t. I called right away to swap it for white. Bit disappointed that they only have hot pink and white… and the pink isn’t great.

Yeah, that one was so much better. I still have an old iPhone in that colour! I don’t usually like blue, but that one was really nice.
It looks kind of purple in certain lighting, especially in dim rooms. But yeah, it’s called ultramarine, so it’s just another shade of blue lol.
Same thing happened with the iPhone 16 Pro Desert Titanium. Looked like a soft gold in pictures, but in real life, it’s way more pink.
If you put a clear or matte case on it, the purple might show up more. Warm lighting also helps.

Maybe, but I wanted an actual purple… not 99.8% blue and a tiny hint of purple.
I thought I’d like it too, but when I saw it in person, I didn’t. The blue just feels off, and the pink is way too harsh. The Pixel 9 pink looks way better.

Teal is the way to go 
I put mine in a purple case… looks pretty good now.
I was hoping for a deeper blue, but I’ve gotten used to it. Kind of like it now.
At least you were able to return it 
It’s just ultramarine blue glass. The way the material reflects light makes it look different in certain areas. Even if they made 100 of them, they’d all look slightly different.

I was on the phone with customer service about something else, and they told me I could get a deal on a new line. I needed another phone anyway, so I agreed. I was in a rush and only looked at the colours quickly online. It seemed like a deep purple at a glance. I love purple, so I got excited… thought Apple was finally doing something different. Guess not. Maybe one day they’ll make a real purple

I think the best purple they ever did was on the 14 Pro and Pro Max.

Didn’t know they did that! Just looked it up… seems like they tried to make a ‘neutral’ purple. Wish they’d just do a proper lavender and let it be a ‘girly’ colour like pink.
What were you expecting? Ultramarine is literally just blue. A quick Google search would have told you that.
