Thinking about the Apple Watch Ultra 2... worth the upgrade?

I’ve had the Apple Watch Ultra 1 since it launched and I love it. But now I’m tempted to upgrade to the Ultra 2. I want to hear from anyone who’s made the switch:

  • Is the screen really that much better?
  • Is the double tap feature actually useful?
  • Any regrets?

I’m mostly using mine for running, hiking, and daily health tracking. Would love your input!

I’ve been eyeing the Ultra 2, but I’m not sure if the upgrades really justify the $799 price tag. The new black titanium looks sick, though… Anyone here tried it yet? How’s the battery life holding up for real? I’m also curious if that Double Tap feature is as smooth as they make it sound.

Yeah, I got it last week. The battery is actually legit… lasted me two days with moderate use. But that Double Tap? IDK, it works but feels a bit finicky sometimes. Might need a software update.

Wait, what’s Double Tap? Haven’t heard about that one.

@Brad
Oh, it’s this gesture where you tap your thumb and index finger to do stuff like pause music or answer calls. Kinda cool when it works, lol.

Honestly, I just got it for the black titanium finish. Looks way more sleek than the natural one.

Same! That finish with the new Milanese Loop is 🔥.

Anyone know if the blood oxygen sensor is still disabled? I heard something about a legal issue?

Yeah, it’s disabled in the US for now. Some patent stuff with Masimo. Could come back with a future update, though.

So it’s just a placeholder for now? That’s kinda lame if they’re charging full price.

I was debating between the Series 10 and Ultra 2… ended up with the Ultra just for the better battery life. It’s a beast for long hikes!

Can confirm, the GPS accuracy on this thing is top-notch. Works great even in the middle of nowhere.
