Sleep apnea is rough and can affect everything in your life. The quality of sleep you get changes your whole day. If untreated, sleep apnea can put serious strain on your heart. I’ve been using a CPAP for 5 years, and it changed my life the first night. There’s nothing wrong with needing a machine to sleep. No one will think less of you for taking care of your health. Don’t risk leaving it untreated. I had someone tell me they didn’t want a CPAP because they thought girls would think it was weird. How silly is that?
There’s no shame in getting help with your sleep. I hope this helps someone. If your Apple Watch suggests you might have a problem, or if you snore a lot, see a pulmonologist.

I hope there aren’t too many false positives. In the UK, there’s already a shortage of CPAP machines and long waits for tests. If a lot of people start trying to get diagnosed all at once, it could overwhelm the system. That said, catching more cases early is definitely a good thing. CPAP has been life-changing for me, even though itâ’s a pain when traveling.

For what it’s worth, Apple said the feature has a 98.5% accuracy rate, so it shouldn’t trigger many false positives.

True, but even a high-accuracy test can cause issues if lots of people use it. Still, I think adoption will be slow since it’s a mature product. They’ll have time to make it more accurate. It would be cool if Apple Health included CPAP stats like pressure and air leaks one day.

I’m on iOS 18 with an Ultra 2 watch. Where do I find this feature?
