I just bought the iPhone 15+ and was excited because it was my first time using iOS. But now, I really regret it. The setup was fine at first, but when I tried transferring WhatsApp (about 15 GB) to the iPhone, it became a nightmare. I thought using the iPhone’s C cable would speed things up, but yesterday it took me 3 hours just to get it done. And guess what, at 99.93% done, an error popped up saying the phone disconnected. Now I have to start over. Why is there no ‘try again’ option? I have to erase everything to make it work. I’ve had to erase my phone 9 times now. This has been a total mess. Will these kinds of problems keep happening? Any solutions? Please, I need help here.
This isn’t really an iPhone issue, it’s more about WhatsApp and how much data you’re transferring.

Honestly, the title should say ‘Shifting WhatsApp from Android to iPhone has been a nightmare’.
I get your frustration, but it seems like this is more of a WhatsApp issue than an iPhone one.
I had the same issue with my 16 Pro Max, took me 4 tries using the cable transfer with the Move to iOS app. Just stay patient, it will eventually work. I recommend keeping both phones plugged in and fully charged, and don’t let them go to sleep while transferring. Also, once the WhatsApp transfer is done, for photos, try using Google Photos or apps like Send Anywhere instead of the Move to iOS app.

Just so you know, the iPhone 15 Plus uses USB 2 speeds, so it transfers around 300 MB/s.

Maybe the cable or the phone you’re transferring from could be the issue?

90 GB took me about 15 minutes, so it should be quicker.
You don’t even need a cable for WhatsApp transfer. It works fine wirelessly for personal WhatsApp. Business WhatsApp is a different story though.
I had a similar experience with my 15 Plus. Initially, I used a cable to connect the phones, but after some time, it switched to WiFi and everything transferred smoothly. You might want to try WiFi if the cable keeps failing.
I switched my mom’s data to an iPhone 15+ from a OnePlus 9 Pro. The transfer took 3 hours and worked perfectly with 85 GB of data. Maybe I got lucky?

That’s normal, it happens.
For me, it was easy, but patience was key. I’m not going back to Android now.
Once you’re in the iOS system, it’s much easier down the line. I switched from Samsung, and setting up future iPhones has been much simpler since then.
If this is your idea of a nightmare, you’re in for some surprises with iPhone.
