I’m enjoying being back on iPhone! I had the S23 Ultra for a while and liked it, but there were a lot of little things that started bothering me. So, I decided to switch back to Apple.
I switched from Note 20 Ultra to iPhone 16 Plus. I miss the back button, quick access to the find in webpage button, and Google Lens being its own app on Android. I also miss the period button on the keyboard. But I’m liking the iPhone otherwise.

I guess there are a few sacrifices. Glad you’re liking the iPhone though.

iPhones have a customizable double back tap, which might be useful for you.
Could you share what bothered you about Android? I’m thinking of switching from iPhone to Android.

Some apps weren’t optimized well on Android, which I know is due to developers. Face ID wasn’t as good, and some apps didn’t support it. Fingerprints are more secure, but sometimes it doesn’t work. My biggest issue was that Android would often ask for my pin to access quick control.

Snapchat’s camera looked horrible on Android, and some other apps too.

Some basic Google apps would crash, even though they should work perfectly on Android. Also, I went from cheap phones with great battery life to expensive ones with poor battery life.
@Emerson
I didn’t know about the Google apps issue… I use them a lot, and if that’s true, I’ll need to think twice.

One of my reasons for thinking about switching is that Apple still doesn’t have tap-to-pay in India, while Android has had it for a long time. Also, I’m using an iPhone 11, which is five generations old, and a battery replacement would cost around 6k-8k, while the battery replacement for the S24 Ultra is only 2k. We need to look at parts costs too, just like we do when buying a car.

iPhone has its strengths and weaknesses, just like Android. The decision to choose a system depends on personal preferences and needs. It might be helpful to try using Android as your main device for a while, maybe even borrow an old phone from a friend to get a feel for it.
iPhone is more of a phone, which is great. It’s not a gadget or a web browser, movie watcher, or downloader—just a phone for talking, texting, and light social media. And it’s much lighter too.

Exactly. If you need a simple, reliable device for basic tasks, the iPhone is a great choice. But if you need more flexibility for business or productivity, Android might be better. I’ve used both for a while now, and each has its pros and cons. For me, Android offers more options for communication and productivity, while iPhone is simpler but a bit more rigid.
Why did you go for the Plus instead of the Pro Max? Just curious.

I wasn’t that interested in the Pro Max. The size difference isn’t very noticeable, and I don’t really care about the 120hz or the telephoto lens. I didn’t think it was worth the extra $300.
Doesn’t the 60hz feel like a downgrade?

For some, yes. For me, no. I’ve never really cared much for 120hz.
Why?!
Well done. I’m now at almost 40 hours between charges and still at 32%.
Love my 16 Pro Max.
