So Apple made a sky blue USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable… thoughts?

Apple just released a sky blue USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. Not sure how to feel about it. Do people really care about cable colours?

Did Apple pay you to write about a coloured USB cable?

How much is one sky blue USB-C to MagSafe even worth?

This reminds me of that old TV show where Kelly Bundy was asking what colour computer her dad was buying.

You sure a person even wrote this?

Probably 5-10 bucks.

Cool, but why not sell matching adapters too?

My first M1 iMac was green, and I got a colour-matched keyboard and trackpad with it. But I barely use them since Apple won’t sell me replacements separately. Don’t want to break them and lose my set.

Would love a second green trackpad, maybe even with Touch ID. Tim Apple, are you listening?

@Kai
Try the Genius Bar. Give them your iMac’s serial number and say you lost your trackpad. They might be able to sell you a matching one.

@Kai
This logic is wild. You don’t use the colour-matched accessories because you don’t want to break them… but you already don’t have matching accessories because you’re not using them. Just use them, they won’t break that easily.

@Kai
One day, I hope to have problems as minor as this.

Oh, it’s definitely the most pointless first-world problem. No argument there.

@Kai
Saw someone selling refurbished magic keyboards with Touch ID in different iMac colours on Amazon. I got a blue one, and it’s been great.

@Kai
I’ve seen coloured trackpads and mice pop up on eBay. Space gray ones too, from time to time.

That would actually be nice

My M3 iMac came with a blue USB-C to Lightning cable.

We got a green one with our M1 iMac. Threw out the green Apple sticker by accident.

We truly live in a time of great technological progress. But yeah, it’s a nice-looking cable.
