I stopped vaping about 20 days ago, slipped up a couple of times, but for the last 16 days, I’ve been completely vape-free. I’ve noticed my resting heart rate is trending lower. It’s about 14 BPM lower on average, which means 840 fewer heartbeats per hour and 20,160 less per day. That’s a significant reduction just to stay alive. Do you think this will help me live longer? 🩵🩵🩵
That’s awesome! I think any nicotine product would have the same effect since nicotine itself affects heart rate.

That explains it! I vape THC and my resting heart rate is pretty normal, so I was confused.
@Denali
Yeah, I’m talking about nicotine vaping
@Kyle
It’s wild how similar the drop-off is when you stop, and the highest point of the new average is the same or lower than the lowest point of the old vaping average.
I’m 48 days vape-free! I’ve quit a bunch of times before, for months even. My longest was a year and a half, but I’d stupidly take a hit here and there from someone else, and then the classic ‘I got a new one, you can have my old one’ thing would happen, and I’d get hooked again. I think it’s the toughest addiction I’ve dealt with. It’s more than just nicotine, but nicotine is definitely the hard part at first, and the withdrawals are rough. I was super irritable and had all the usual withdrawal symptoms, but once you get past that, these Boom Boom sticks have really helped! They’re minty nasal sticks. I don’t even crave vapes anymore, but I think I’ll always struggle when I’m around someone vaping. That little devil on my shoulder is like, ‘Just one hit won’t kill ya’… so now I bring Boom Boom sticks with me when I go out. The name is cheesy, but they sell them at every CVS, and I’m pretty sure Walgreens too. They really do the trick for me. It’s the hand-to-mouth thing (or nose, in this case), breathing something in, and the flavor in your nose and lungs. I don’t shove it up my nose, just bring it close and sniff lightly, haha. They help a lot once you’re past the nicotine part. I wish more people knew about them! Anyway, cheers to you! Quitting is the best thing I ever did. My anxiety is lower, I sleep better, eat better, have energy, and my mental health is way better. I saw a quote that said, ‘Never quit quitting!’ Good luck to you and everyone else doing hard stuff for their health! 🫶🏼 Go find some winter mint Boom Boom sticks! Okay, bye!

I really need to quit, lol
Wouldn’t the progress you see eventually slow down? I vape constantly and used to smoke, and my resting heart rate is 53-61 during the week.
So, if I quit, would it drop to the 40s? I know elite runners are usually in the high 40s, but it seems weird to think I’d be there just from stopping vaping.
@Landyn
Maybe you’ve got the genetics of an elite athlete

That’s good to know. So, it’s just laziness and my diet holding me back. Oh well, maybe in 2026.

Instead of waiting for the ‘perfect’ moment that never arrives, why not start now? Don’t let excuses disguised as plans keep you stuck in a cycle. Yesterday was the best time to start, but right now is the next best thing.
@DavidWilson
Oh, I was just being sarcastic. I know it’s a daily struggle, lol
@Landyn
I’m wondering the same thing. My resting heart rate is in the high 40s, and I vape. I’m really curious how much it would drop.
I’m struggling to quit vaping. I keep trying not to buy one, but I always give in during the afternoon I need to be stronger!

Read ‘The Easy Way to Quit Vaping’ by Allen Carr. It’s based on his super popular book about quitting smoking. It worked for me.
@Koa
I think I read that book a while ago and quit for 8 months, but then I partied one night and started again. That was two years ago I need to read it again and hit the gym. I’m going to read it and quit this time
I’m already fed up haha
@Franklin
It’s going to help you. Imagine all the good things that will come from quitting!
@Franklin
Reading books never works
