My watch thinks I was napping while working at my desk?

I was driving on Sunday afternoon, and when I got out of the car, my watch told me I’d taken a 2.5-hour nap.

That’s dangerous.

Does the Apple Watch record naps now?

That was my question too—I didn’t think it could automatically record sleep unless you have a sleep schedule set up.

Mine records my sleep without any focus mode on. It recorded my nap two days ago—42 minutes. It even added it to my night sleep amount.

@Zhen
So all you had to do was just nap. It doesn’t trigger automatically for me. Maybe it’s the length of time that matters?

@Zhen
I’ll have to try taking a nap. My nap game is lacking apparently.

The last OS update changed this; it automatically records sleep now. I find it works really well. I have issues sleeping and often lie awake all night, totally motionless with a low heart rate, but it knows exactly when I’m asleep vs. awake. I’ve yet to trick it into thinking I’m sleeping when I’m awake. It’s also better because it’ll auto-record short naps, which manual sleep focus wouldn’t catch before.

Wondering the same. My old Fitbit would know and record it, but I thought the Apple Watch wasn’t doing that except maybe the latest version?

@Sullivan
I have a Series 7 and it auto-records sleep anytime of day even if not set to sleep mode.

@Sullivan
I have an SE and mine picks up whenever I nap, or if I’m lying still for a while it’ll think I’m napping :joy:

You mean it recorded you napping while you were actually napping at your desk. Haha.

Working hard or hardly working?

Busted.

You’re living the dream.

Working on those Z’s.

What’s that top widget?

“Working”

First two: Steps and flights climbed with the Pedometer app. The last one is WaterMinder.

Thanks!

Might be a silly question but how do you get that specific widget with three icons? I have the default one but didn’t know you could add another!

@Lyle
It’s the default widget option! I just added different complications.
