I moved my mum from a 6 plus to a 15 plus. I was worried about the home button change but she got used to it pretty quick

She’s in her early 70s. Not super techy but she can handle basic stuff like using a computer and Zoom

Even after using my old iPad Air 4th gen for months he still struggles with swiping. He just wants to press the home button

Maybe he should’ve gone for an SE3. I still use a 6s and it works fine with iOS 15. Why did he upgrade

Some apps stopped supporting his iOS version and there were security concerns. I have an SE3 from work but the battery isn’t great. He’s trying to get used to the new generation though

He could try the virtual home button in Accessibility settings. I use it on my phone and iPad as a simple home button

He’ll probably be fine. If it was a big issue we’d still have home buttons today

Older people are great at swiping up. They close all their apps thinking it helps. Once you explain they don’t need to double press the home button they get used to it fast
