I’ve been using Artifact for a week, and it’s such a great app. It’s a real shame it’s shutting down.

I also use Google News mostly. You can pick to see more or less of certain types of articles if you want.

I’ve been using Whirpul as an aggregator. It’s free and really easy to use. I like reading news from both sides to stay informed.

Smart News

News Break – Some articles are clickbait, but they have good stories and up-to-date news. Both have great local news too.

I don’t love Smart News’ algorithm. I had surgery and checked out some lighter content, and now it only shows me human interest stories. Can’t get back to real news!

Try Newsreadeck for an aggregator. It’s free and has over 10k sources. The custom reader is pretty cool too.

Not an app, but I use Axios for news. Their reporting is more in-depth.
