Just unboxed a 16 pro… what is this bump next to the volume button? Does it mean OLED damage?

Anyone else noticed something weird with their new device? I’m curious about this bump.

The screen is messed up, you should take it back for a replacement.

Yeah I figured that out… thanks for the heads up

Have you tried wiping the lens? Maybe it’s just a smudge.

What do you mean by that?

Looks like dead pixels. You definitely need a replacement.

This seems like OLED damage. It’s best to return it.

Dead pixels can spread… it’s better to return it before it gets worse.

Just return it.

You should send it back.

Looks like a mole… chill out, everyone.

Lol, for real

Does it stay after rebooting the phone or when you switch to horizontal view?

Also, try going to settings, then accessibility, then display and text size. Turn on ‘smart invert’ and check if there’s a white border around the black dot. If so, it might be a software issue.

@Sable
Nope, that didn’t fix it… pretty certain it’s a physical issue.

That must be the case… you should return it for a new one.

Yes, it stays after I open any app too.

Apple seems to be having issues lately… I found two dust particles in my iPhone 15 Pro’s main camera lens and I clean my device regularly.

Dust can be found in high-end DSLR and MILC lenses too, and those cost way more than a kitted out 16 Pro Max. They usually don’t affect the photos.
