Just switched to the iPhone 15 Pro… what a leap

Finally made the jump from my 128GB iPhone 11 that I’ve had since launch to a 1TB iPhone 15 Pro.

I went with the 15 Pro 1TB ($1100 CAD) instead of the 16 Pro 512GB ($1999 CAD) because of the huge price difference. Honestly, the few new features didn’t feel worth the extra cost.

Congrats on the upgrade! I got my 15 Pro 256GB a month ago, and it’s been great. Just avoid heavy gaming unless you want it to heat up like crazy.

Heavy gaming, taking loads of photos, recording long videos… all the stuff that makes it warm haha.

@Lyle
Get yourself a good phone fan, and you should be alright. The battery is just okay, but a solid MagSafe power bank can make up for that.

I play COD Mobile daily for about 90 minutes, and it doesn’t overheat. Just gets a little warm. Charging is when it really heats up, especially between 30% and 70%.

I’ve played Dead by Daylight for hours, and it’s never gotten uncomfortably hot.

Go ahead and enjoy your games .

You just reminded me to go farm some BP points.

You heard it’s getting shut down soon, right?

Try adding a graphene copper sheet to help with the heat. I’m also hoping the new silicon-carbon batteries become compatible with older iPhones. Not sure if it’s possible, but it’d be awesome if it worked.

Didn’t they fix the heating issues with a recent update?

Where did you get it? Sounds like a good deal.

You got a 1TB 15 Pro for $1100 CAD? Where did you find that?

That’s a huge upgrade! I also got a 15 Pro Max, though mine’s 512GB. Welcome to the 15 Pro club.

I made the same jump last year, though my 11 was a Pro.

Not trying to be that guy, but it’s really just a faster refresh rate and a crisper screen and camera. That said, the screen is amazing. Glad you found the grey model—enjoy!

Nice! Hope you enjoy it.

What’s your favourite thing about it so far?

Congrats on the new phone.

What happened to your iPhone 11? It looks like it went through a war zone, lol. I had an iPhone X for 5–6 years before upgrading to the 15 Pro Max, and it never looked that bad—though I did keep it in a case. The only thing wrong with mine was the battery, which was at 60% capacity, and I had to get the speakers replaced. Later, the charging port started going bad. Apple told me it would cost $500 to fix because the charging port is soldered to the motherboard. They suggested getting an SE instead for the same price. I decided to go with the 15 Pro Max instead.

@Davin
I dropped it from about 7 feet onto the bathroom tiles. The back glass completely shattered, but the screen survived. It still works, but the battery life is terrible now—67% health.

I’ve seen worse. I knew a police officer with an iPhone 4. During an arrest, they got into a scuffle, and the phone’s back glass shattered into a million pieces. Surprisingly, it still worked just fine.
