Just got the new iPhone 16 Pro… Thoughts on battery life?

The battery will be normal after about two weeks. When you transfer everything over, most apps will still be updating and downloading in the background. My 16 Pro gives me around 7-8 hours of screen time a day, and that’s plenty.

@Nile
Since when does your phone give you 8 hours of use?

It just depends on how you use it, bro.

I get over 8 hours, and I play games like Diablo Immortal and Mario Tour a lot. The most I’ve had was 11 hours with 80% of the battery used. I’m really impressed with the battery life (though it takes some tweaks like turning off background tasks and AI).

@Valen
Do you have the 16 Pro or the 16 Pro Max? I don’t play games and I can barely get 4.5 hours of screen time.

16 Pro, not Max. This is the 16 Pro subreddit :slightly_smiling_face:

@Valen
Since you bought your phone, has the battery really lasted that much time of use?

Yeah, apart from the first couple of days, and I’ve had the phone for about a month.

@Valen
So, in 2-3 days your battery fixed itself?

For me, yes, it was fine, but I believe it can vary. Though, I noticed your first charge level was like 50%? Mine was around 80%.

I’m not sure what you mean, but for reference: I’ve had my 16 Pro for 15 days, and today I got 7 hours of screen time from 100% charge, with 17% left. But it took about two weeks for my battery to get to this level, it’s been improving every day since I got it.

@Blair
Can you show me your battery progress privately?

Battery is solid. It’s not the best on the market, but it’s not advertised to be. Compared to the Max, you’re already sacrificing battery life. Android also has several models with better battery than the Max. But realistically, you’re getting a high-performance phone with a more than adequate 6.3-inch display. At the end of the day, it’s a great buy. That’s exactly why I have the same phone. :smile:

@Dell
Only 5 hours of screen time.

Not long ago, I had to return my other iPhone 16 Pro for an exchange because the battery didn’t last long.

How long have you had that phone?

I had it for two weeks and factory reset it once.

@Dawson
Two weeks only? That means it hasn’t fully set up, and you reset it. You need to have some patience.

How much time did you have to wait?
