People always say ‘Shot on iPhone,’ but does that mean no extra tools? Joe Greer only uses JPEG, not ProRaw. Could it be VSCO or some other editing app?
I swiped… and now I regret it.

I un-wiped. Shouldn’t have done that.

Looks like we all swiped at some point.
Most people don’t realize that ‘Shot on iPhone’ doesn’t mean just the phone by itself. You can attach extra lenses to get different effects.

Honestly, any iPhone from the last few years can take this kind of shot. Good lighting and some basic editing are all it takes.
The composition is great, and the editing is nice, but technically, this isn’t a hard shot. It’s a well-lit outdoor scene close to golden hour. Not too difficult to get something similar.
JPEG can handle this fine. Maybe he used a specific photo style or just edited it like anyone else would.
I don’t get the confusion. The colors and framing are good, but this is totally doable with an iPhone.
One thing about photography—it’s not just about the gear. People don’t ask painters what brushes they use. It’s about skill, lighting, and practice. You can have the best camera in the world, but if you don’t know how to compose a shot, it won’t matter.
‘Shot on iPhone’ doesn’t mean unedited. They tweak things after, adjust colors, etc.

Yeah, the commercials even have a tiny disclaimer about that.
This looks like any regular outdoor shot in JPEG, just with some color adjustments. Even the built-in iPhone tools can do this.
Technically, this is an easy shot. The balance and colors are nice, but what really stands out is the way it’s framed. That’s probably what people are noticing.
This is just a quick edit in Lightroom lol.
A lot of editing went into this.

Probably just basic color correction though.
This photo feels calming.
