Is it really worth upgrading to iOS 18 on the iPhone 15?

Just wondering because I’ve seen mixed opinions. Some say battery got better, others say it got worse. Is this update really worth it?

Also, does England get any new AI features?

My battery seems a bit better. As for the AI features, they’re just small conveniences like email sorting and summaries, nothing that feels life-changing.

Yeah, but you won’t get the visual intelligence that Google Lens has.

True, Google Lens has been around for ages…

Haha, right on! :joy:

Running iOS 17.7.1 on my 15, getting about 9 hours of screen time. Not into the AI stuff at all.

Same here.

Did you find 17.7.1 better for battery than 17.7?

Yep, it gave me around 30 extra minutes.

Definitely worth it. England is supposed to get the AI features next month.

I don’t find Siri useful at all. I see the potential but never use it. If I need help with an email, I just ask ChatGPT.

Was on 18, battery was really bad, went to 18.0.1 and it got a bit better. Now 18.1 is here and I’ve heard mixed things, so I’m holding off. AI is nice, but battery life matters more to me.

Funny, I heard the opposite. 18.0.1 was draining fast but 18.1 improved it.

@Winslow
Yep, same experience here .

Battery feels a bit better for me, but iOS 18 has been a letdown overall. Passwords app is helpful, but everything else like the Photos app and AI features are just okay.

Edit: Tried to search for ‘messages’ in settings, but AI just kept showing me unrelated stuff. Frustrating.

Battery’s improved a lot for me. I had the beta initially, and it would die in like 5 hours.

Had terrible battery life for about a week, but now it’s back to normal.

Have you tried looking it up on Google?

I just update whatever comes my way, seems like the safest bet.

Doesn’t seem worth it yet. AI in 18.1 is way overhyped. Might be better to wait till next year when England gets AI support before upgrading.
