Modems are tricky. I remember the whole Intel vs Qualcomm thing… I got lucky, my spouse didn’t. Same network, same spot, completely different performance.

Yeah, lost service on a hike where I used to be able to check my bank account. Ended up getting a new phone the very next year because of it.

The article says by 2026, Apple’s modem will be just as good, and by 2027, it’ll be even better than Qualcomm’s.

Yeah, but have you looked at how long this modem has been delayed? Apple bought it from Intel and has been dragging its feet ever since. Hard to believe it’ll be any good.
