Is Apple finally about to drop the new iPhone SE…?

Looks like the wait might be over soon. Rumors say Apple could announce the new iPhone SE as early as next week, with sales starting later this month. No big event, just a quiet website update. What do you all think?

They better not bump up the price too much or it’ll lose its whole purpose.

Same here. I want an iPhone again but don’t need all the extra features. A smaller one would be nice, but I want something that’ll get updates for years. Hoping it’s not overpriced.

I doubt the price will jump that much. People are worried it’ll make the 15/16 seem like bad buys, but the SE usually sticks around for a few years before an update. It won’t look out of place next to the 17/18/19 models.

@Laken
No way it stays at $429 though.

Probably $499.

Seems like Apple is skipping a launch event and will just update their website with the new SE announcement. Makes sense if they’re trying to get it out fast.

@Quinn
Wait… don’t they usually announce these in March? Looks like they’re in a hurry now that iOS 18.4 is coming with new language support for Apple’s AI.

Apple only sells USB-C iPhones in the EU now, so maybe they’re trying to get the SE out sooner to give people another option besides the 15 and 16.

@Reagan
That actually makes sense, thanks.

@Reagan
That’s not true. I’m in India and have seen USB-C iPhones in other Asian countries too. They’re selling everywhere, not just the EU.

What they meant is that in the EU, Apple only sells USB-C iPhones, meaning no more Lightning models. In other places, both versions are still available.

They don’t always do a spring event. Even if they are planning one, maybe they don’t want to wait another month or two for this release.

Hurry up already, I need a new phone.

If they keep the price close to the last one, they’re going to sell a ton of these.

Loved the smaller SE models… definitely upgrading when this one drops.

I still miss the iPhone 5 size. That was perfect for me.

Yeah, phones have gotten way too big. I’d love something closer to that size again.

Looks like the screen will be bigger this time, according to leaks.

Good to see Apple still making SE models. My first iPhone was an SE, so it’s nice they’re keeping it around.
