iPhone Sound Restriction Question

Hi all,

I’m curious about the iPhone’s sound management features. I’ve heard that iPhones restrict the volume to 80 dB even if you set the volume to the maximum level. Is this true?

Also, does this volume restriction apply only when using AirPods, or does it work with other types of headphones and speakers as well?

Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :yum:

It indeed is true that iPhones restrict the volume to 80 dB even if you set the volume to the maximum level.
However, with non-AirPods, it is not precise I guess.

IPhone volume is capped around 85 dB for safety. This limit applies to all audio output, including headphones and speakers.
