How to Stop iPhone Camera from Making Photos Look AI-Enhanced?

Hello y’all…

I’ve been noticing that my iPhone camera seems to be applying some kind of artificial smoothing or enhancement to my photos. It looks like there’s AI-based smoothing that darkens lines and alters the natural look of images. I prefer a more natural, unedited appearance for my photos and would like to find a way to disable or minimize these enhancements.

My iPhone used to do the same thing and it drove me nuts. I found that turning off features like “Auto Enhance” in the Photos app can help. Also, try playing with the camera settings or apps that let you control these tweaks more precisely. Sometimes, the camera’s default settings just aren’t your style

Though I’m sure you’ve heard of Halide, it gets my vote. I open that up, shoot in RAW, and do the necessary edits in Lightroom when I really want control. But the control it provides is useful even if I don’t plan to change it. For example, being able to regulate focus has made it possible for me to get clearer photographs through a window screen or to obtain precise details for business.

To my perspective, Apple tends to oversharpen and artificially brighten photographs; however, ProRAW may sometimes correct that. Just remember that you need to shoot in RAW and edit afterwards, or otherwise the preview will still have all of the postprocessing.
