I love some of the old iOS wallpapers and really want to keep them. Does anyone know how to do this without losing quality after updates?
Hey, you might want to check out this link on this forum. It’s got a pretty good archive of a bunch of old Mac and iOS wallpapers. Hope it helps!
@Teal
It’s not really the same though. The quality isn’t as good on all of them, and they don’t switch automatically with the time of day.

I know right? It’s so frustrating how they force both screens to change at once. Wish we could just change the lock screen without touching the home screen.
@Nico
Actually, I noticed that if you create a wallpaper from one of the built-in ones, it stays after an update. You just can’t add it back if you remove it. So I just add a bunch to my rotation, and they survive the upgrades. Worth a try if you haven’t done that yet.
Just search online, you can find all the old wallpapers out there.
I really miss when the wallpapers would switch between light and dark mode. They should bring that back.

That’s why those links people share don’t work for me. The quality isn’t the same, and they don’t change with the time of day like the original ones. Might as well use any random picture if that’s the case.
@Bliss
I found a link on GitHub that’s not too bad for quality, but still doesn’t compare to the original wallpapers.
Here’s a link to some old wallpapers I found on this forum:
Here’s another archive link I found. Hope it helps!
@Cael
Thanks, but when I save them to photos, they don’t look as good as they should. Is there a way to keep the original quality when saving them?

I remember there used to be an old folder on GitHub, but I can’t find it anymore. I’ll keep looking.
Weird… this reminds me of Jabba the Hutt somehow.
Funny thing… I actually have this wallpaper on my Samsung tablet.
Pretty sure they’re just gone now. Can’t get them back.
