Finally got my Apple setup ready... Is there anything else I should know?

I’ve been using my MacBook Air for a long time, but recently I added more Apple devices. I heard a lot about how well they work together. Now I have an iPhone 16, Apple Watch 10 LTE 46mm, M1 MacBook Air 13in, iPad 10th Gen, and AirPods Pro 2nd Gen. Is there anything else I should know about how these work together?

Do you have Apple TV? It’s ad-free and works really well. You should also look into Homekit products.

Apple TV paired with AirPods is such a cool feature.

Is this because you can listen to TV audio through AirPods? I’ve wanted to try this but never knew how.

@Sidney
Samsung TVs can also connect to AirPods, but you need to do it manually in the settings.

@Sidney
Yes, it works just like with Apple devices. When you put them in, a notification pops up on the TV saying ‘X AirPods connected,’ then you just press the button shown.

Oooooh I think I know what I’m getting myself for Valentine’s Day now.

@Sidney
Works great with my Apple TV and Beats Fit Pro.

Since I switched from Pixel, I still have Chromecast and Google Home devices for streaming and my partner can use them since they prefer Android. Are Apple TV and Homekit locked into just Apple products or can I still use them with other devices?

@Tavi
Homekit is pretty open. Even if a device isn’t Homekit-certified, you can run Homebridge on a PC, Mac, or Raspberry Pi to make it work. For example, I’ve got Nest running through Homebridge. As for Apple TV, you can use an Android phone as the remote app. The ecosystem works pretty seamlessly.

Does anyone else get annoyed by these ‘I’m new to Apple and spent $3,000’ posts?

Sorry if I made it seem like I spent all that at once. I’ve been getting things over the years and some on financing. I’m actually living paycheck to paycheck. Didn’t mean to sound braggy.

@Tavi
It’s fine, I shouldn’t have reacted like that. I use Apple products too, but I don’t like when people treat them like status symbols. I paid $1,100 for my phone, and I’m not happy about that.

I got an iPhone, MacBook Pro, and iPad with the pencil for work, and I didn’t pay anything for them.

@Tavi
This is basically how it goes for everyone haha.

Yeah, tech is so expensive now. Can’t afford to buy everything all at once.

@Tavi
Same here. Got an iPhone, then an Apple Watch, then AirPods, and finally replaced my old laptop with an iPad. All of it happened over three years, saving up and working extra hours.

@Tavi
It’s great that you’re happy with your setup. I remember feeling the same way when I first got everything. I like these posts because it’s nice to see people proud of their purchases. It’s sad how many people try to bring others down.

Apple TV is a game changer, and if you add a HomePod Mini in each room, you’ve got an instant smart home and home theater.

Welcome to the Apple family! Been a fan for years!
