Google’s apps shouldn’t be worse on iPhones just because they’re competing with Apple. Maybe it’s worth trying out Apple’s apps instead if YouTube Music doesn’t work well for you. I actually prefer Apple Music.
With so many ‘improvements and optimizations’ in updates, it makes me wonder if these apps are mostly just ten lines of code by now… if we actually believed those update notes.
That’s strange… I use regular YouTube on iPhone and don’t have any lag, even though you’d think it’d be slower since it has video and everything. My only issue is a minor layout glitch with the search icon sometimes, but I’m sure Google will fix it soon.
It’s not unusual for big tech competitors to have apps that don’t work quite as well on Apple’s devices. But some developers actually release updates on iOS first because it has fewer OS versions and more consistent users.
