Did Apple sneak in a weird speech-to-text bug?

People noticed something strange with Apple’s dictation. If you say ‘racist,’ it first types ‘Trump’ before correcting itself. Since those two words have nothing in common, it looks intentional. But would Apple really approve this? Maybe a rogue engineer slipped it in as a joke?

I tried it myself and it really happens. No way this is just random. Either someone at Apple is trolling, or there’s some weird logic at play.

Apple used to hide little surprises in their software… I miss the days when they did fun Easter eggs.

@Jael
Remember when you could ask Siri where to hide a body, and it would jokingly suggest swamps and dumps? That was until some actual criminal tried using it.

Wait… that actually happened? That’s insane.

@Jael
Yep, true story! Here’s the article.

I once asked Siri the same thing and it replied, ‘I knew that at some point.’ Just tried again, and now it just gives web results.

I tested it on my phone, but nothing happened.

@Rowan
I just tried, and it definitely showed ‘Trump’ first before switching to ‘racist.’ Kinda hilarious.

Maybe a single engineer thought it’d be funny. But messing with a company’s product like this? Probably not worth losing your job over.

@Kendall
Yeah, if they actually did this on purpose, I hope it was worth the risk.

This could be a phonetics issue. Words that start with an ‘r’ sound might be getting mixed up with ‘Trump’ before fixing themselves. I noticed it happening with ‘rampant’ and ‘rampage’ too.

I tried it, but nothing happened on my phone.

It only happened once for me, then stopped.

Lmao, I just tested it… still works .

My phone didn’t do it either. Wasn’t sure if this was real, but I’ve seen a bunch of articles about it.

Mine did it at first but not every time. If you end dictation and restart, it happens again. I also saw it flash ‘You’ before fixing itself to ‘Racist.’ Super weird.

Same for me. Happened once, then stopped.

No joke, my super conservative mom saw this and was over the moon. She even took a screenshot to show me. I tested it myself, and yep, it’s real.

A few weeks ago, I typed ‘white’ and my phone suggested ‘supremacy’ as the only option. Tried again, same result. Super weird.
