Can this be fixed somehow?

The cat is still looking at it.

Edit for context: Cats seem to like biting into the sides of screens. Don’t punish her though, she had no idea she was doing something bad. Don’t leave your laptop open if you have a cat.

I mean, $500 bucks would fix it

That gooch near the Touch ID and arrow keys is horrific

$99 if you have AC+, if not pricing varies, but seems unlikely to be fixed for less than $400

That computer isn’t worth fixing if you don’t already have Applecare+ on it, you are better off just hooking the machine up to an external monitor, wiping it and selling it for parts on eBay. Then buying a new machine.

M2 Air is still $749 from Amazon. You have to apply the $200 coupon to get the $749 price. [link]. If you don’t see the coupon anymore try changing the color of the laptop.

M3 is $899 from Amazon with coupon [link]. For $150 more you won’t really notice a difference but you should get more OS support if you plan on keeping the laptop forever. So it’s actually a better deal than the M2 Air despite it being more expensive.

I still think a used M1 2021 14" or 16" 512GB 16GB at $800 off of Facebook Marketplace/Offerup/Craigslist is a better deal than both Air deals too.

A whole can of polyurethane should make it as good as new. Seriously, open your eyes and look at it, what do you think.

New screen.

Costs lots

Have you considered asking for a quote from the people who would actually be fixing it?

Though sorry for you, but perfect circle

Maybe some tape

Have you tried switching it off and back on again?

Same thing happened to me! Too expensive to replace the screen. I had to buy a new one! My cat chewed the corner about a year ago, but the screen only gave up recently! Nothing visible on mine except a little bit at the corner. Very annoying and expensive! I had a top spec machine.

Is this a joke? How are you going to fix that? With duct tape?

Totally fixable. Just use duct tape and you’re good.

The computer doesn’t seem to be in good shape though, missing keys and crumbs everywhere

Anger issues? Yes, these are fixable. I would start by bringing it up with your primary care provider. They should after an assessment establish a care plan that involves body, mind and maybe medication. Do not self-medicate!

In the meantime: Stop punching computer screens.
Good luck in your healing!

Why and how do you have a black hole forming in your screen?

You left something on the keyboard and closed the lid.

It can be fixed with a new display.
