So I snapped a photo today, went to check it out in the gallery, and there’s this massive black rectangle across it. I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.1. Anyone else dealing with this?

Haha… shrimp-ography
I had a similar issue, and restarting my device solved it. I’m also using the beta 18.2.

Soviet way of censorship
Has anyone else here seen this too? Happened to me last month on iOS 18.0.1 with an iPhone 15. I took the same pic again, and it was fine the second time. It happened like two or three times in one day and hasn’t happened since.
Maybe it’s hiding the ‘naughty’ side of the pasta
Maybe there’s a tiny Samsung phone stuck inside the lens?

Apple’s ‘censorship’ of your food
Apple probably thought it was 'prawn-ography’ lol. But, technically, a shrimp isn’t a prawn. Guess Apple’s AI doesn’t know the difference
Lol, accidental censorship
Some Japanese ‘food art’ maybe?
Goodman strikes again with microtransactions .
Could it be an accidental edit? You can add a rectangle by going into Edit > Markup > Add Shape

Any other ideas? Doesn’t sound like sensor damage since it’s so perfectly shaped
