Is being nervous in situations like this not normal?

More than doubling your heart rate and feeling pounding in your chest? Nah, I’d get it checked.

If it happens a lot, sure.
I’ve been in situations like this; they are rare. Receiving a job call is bound to be nerve-wracking.

Okay, but going from 68 to 136 in a minute is crazy.
Yeah, I get this when I start a run. For the body to push itself like this based on an internal stimulus is kind of awesome.

I had an episode of potential SVT recently, and my heart rate went from ~90 to 186 in a matter of seconds. It was pretty fascinatingly scary to watch. My heart rate is variable on a normal day due to anxiety, but this was new.

Panic attacks can do that too. Not a nice feeling.

My first panic attack made my heart go from 70 to 206 in 2 minutes, just sitting there. Unreal.
The phone was ringing, you knew it was the job you wanted so badly, you opened the heart rate app, took a picture with your phone while it was ringing, and then eventually answered the call?

No, I assumed the most logical explanation which is:
He was nervous prior to the call. Took a photo of his heart rate. Then the phone rang.
I know, I know, it’s very unlikely.

I knew they were calling me at that time, so I was a bit nervous waiting.

Or they knew the company would call at a certain time (e.g., 19:15) and this was them waiting for the call.

This was my thought too. Maybe they were rejected for letting the phone ring too long.
@Marlo
If a company rejects you for letting the phone ring too long, they aren’t worth your time.

I was also once waiting for my scheduled offer call and curiously monitored my heart rate.

He missed the call because of this post, which led to the rejection.

Maybe he didn’t get the job because of his priorities.
You have to see the positive side of things > you just got your veins cleaned perfectly .
Coming from a hiring manager in a FAANG company:
At least they called to reject you. Very few companies do that. If they did, it most likely means you were considered for hire. Due to the volume of candidates, my company’s HR doesn’t call the candidate but does provide feedback via email on what you did well and what to improve.
@Quinn
Most likely one of the few that made it to the final round.
