Are GSMArena search results really that good?

I’ve been using GSMArena for a while and their search results are always spot on. Anyone else feel the same?

E means Enterprise, right?

Funny you mention that… My company just ordered the 16E to replace all our iPhone 11s. I saw the order the other day—860 units in total.

No more A, B, C, or D talk .

Why is there no iOS app?

The 16E isn’t really an SE… I don’t get why people keep comparing them. It’s way closer to a base model in terms of both specs and price.

Old parts, similar performance… sounds like an SE to me. Just with a few upgrades.

@Shan
I don’t think that comparison makes sense. The SE lineup has always been about using older designs with newer chips.

The chipset is why I said similar performance. It’s a binned chip, so it’s missing a GPU core.

The frame and display are old parts, just like previous SE models that used designs from 2-3 years earlier.

@Shan
Most of the parts are brand new. The frame was changed for the action button and USB-C. The back glass is different because of the new camera cutout. The SoC and C1 are new. The only real carryover is the screen.

@Avery
The frame looks like the iPhone 12-14 series with squared-off edges. The SoC is what I meant by ‘similar performance.’ SE models have always had new chips inside older bodies. The screen, notch, and bezels are still old parts.

It’s got more new features than past SE models, but it’s still following the same formula—just a little more upgraded.

@Shan
The frame is only the same in style, not in actual design. That’s a big difference from the usual SE approach.

And? It’s still an older design with some tweaks. They took the SE strategy and just added a few extras.

Plus, they even removed features from the 14, like MagSafe. It also doesn’t have precision Find My, unlike the 15 and 16 models. It’s a mixed bag.

@Shan
SE models always had old bodies with new chips. The 16E has a new body that was designed with some older parts in mind. SE models were just iPhone 8s with better chips, nothing else. The 16E has an action button, C1, and an upgraded camera, but it also lost MagSafe and some Find My features from the 14. It’s not exactly an SE.

@Micah
The 16E doesn’t have a ‘new’ body, my guy. It’s the same 12-14 design with USB-C and an action button. They just made a few changes.

The first SE was an iPhone 5s with a better chip. The second and third SEs were iPhone 8 bodies with upgraded chips and cameras. The 16E is a 14 with a new chip and a couple of tweaks.

So yeah, it’s closer to an SE than a flagship model. They just didn’t want to call it an SE this time.

Not arguing about this anymore, man.

This didn’t age well, did it?

@Harlyn
Lmao not the ‘little bro’ treatment… why’d you do him like that?

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. You’re just speaking facts.
