Apple says it will add 20,000 jobs in the US… but will it really?

Apple claims it’s creating 20,000 jobs in the US, but is this really about bringing jobs back? Or just something that was always planned?

Is this actually about bringing jobs back? From what I’ve seen, they’re building an AI data center. If it’s for US customers, it makes sense to build it here anyway.

Sure they will…

I’ll believe it when I see it.

  1. This isn’t happening overnight. Building new sites takes years and a ton of money.

  2. Tariffs will raise costs for millions of people, making everything more expensive.

  3. What happened to that Indiana factory they promised?

  4. Instead of tariffs, maybe try incentives to keep jobs here without tanking the economy.

Just hope these jobs don’t all go to H1B visa holders.

Musk keeps saying Americans can’t do tech jobs, so they have to hire from outside.

Musk talks a lot of nonsense. Can’t take him seriously.

Shouldn’t we be happy that jobs are being added here? I don’t like Trump either, but this sounds like good news if it actually happens.

Bend the knee, Tim Apple.

How is a US company hiring US workers ‘bending the knee’? Would you rather they just outsource more?

I can’t stand Trump, but if this means more jobs here, I’m good with it. Still not holding my breath though.

That’s like saying ‘Mussolini made the trains run on time.’ It’s just a way to shut people up and avoid real discussion.

@Ozzy
Wait… didn’t Mussolini making the trains run on time turn out to be a myth?

Yeah, he just forced the press to say it was happening. People believed it, but it wasn’t true.

You’re forgetting that a lot of these will probably be H1B visa jobs.

@Crosby
Even if that’s true, isn’t it still better than outsourcing everything? At least the money stays in the US.

And these jobs will be the best, most beautiful jobs you’ve ever seen.

Cool. So now iPhones will cost $500 more.

All they have to do is say they’re investing billions and billions of dollars and creating thousands and thousands of jobs. People will eat it up.
