I just bought a new watch band, and wow… the amount of packaging is crazy. Does anyone else feel like this is over the top?
Apple always goes all out with their packaging. It looks nice, but yeah, it does feel excessive.

Pretty much all Apple products have too much packaging, if we’re being honest.

That’s not really the point of this conversation.
At least it’s all paper. Still wasteful, but better than plastic, right?

If I remember right, Apple owns forests specifically for making their paper packaging.
It’s actually less packaging than what other companies use, and it’s mostly paper. Still not perfect, but better than plastic-heavy packaging.
Just you lol
It’s all about making you feel like you’re getting something special. Same reason luxury cars sound a certain way when you close the door. It’s psychology.

Yep, and it works. People expect a premium brand to have a premium unboxing experience. It’s all about setting expectations.
It’s just paper. Recycle it and move on.
Took me forever to get the band out at the store. Eventually, an employee had to help me. Felt kinda dumb lol.

Man, you probably couldn’t open a bag of chips either
The packaging shape kinda looks like a wrench. Anyone else see it?
Yep, totally agree.
It’s a trick to make the product feel more valuable. Same thing happens in Japan—tons of fancy packaging for tiny amounts of product.

Still happens now, not just in the past!
It’s just paper. Not sure how that counts as an insane amount of packaging.
If you want less packaging, buy cheaper third-party bands. They come in simple plastic bags.
They do it to make you feel like you got something fancy.
