Saw this render of the iPhone 17 Air… It looks sleek but I just don’t get why we need an even thinner phone. Thoughts?
I don’t get it either. From what’s been leaked so far, it’s just a thinner, more expensive phone with worse specs.
Who actually wants the thinnest phone? Most people I know use a case anyway.

At this point, it’s more about flexing that you have the newest and priciest phone than specs.

Honestly, just make the phone as thick as the camera bump and put in a bigger battery.
People are clearly fine with thicker phones, especially with the bulky cases they use.
The only real advantage of a thin phone is that it fits in skinny jeans, and those aren’t even in style anymore.
Nooo… The render looks alright, but that camera design? Please no.
Why do all these renders keep putting the flashlight on the wrong side? It makes no sense at all.
A thinner phone that sacrifices battery life and camera quality? Yeah, no thanks. At least make it foldable or something if you want to stand out. This won’t sell well in this economy.
If it ends up looking like this, I’m switching to a RedMagic or Oppo.
This looks like an iPixel…
What’s even the point of this phone? Are they using that new silicon battery tech like Oppo?
Still has a camera bump, so it’s not exactly thin, is it?
If they use the new battery tech, this might actually be a solid phone. The Pro is too small, the Max is too big… Maybe this is the sweet spot?
What is this even…?
Holding onto my 16 Pro Max for dear life… That thing is ugly.
I have a theory… Maybe the leaks are only half right, and the reason the phone is so thin is that it won’t have a built-in battery.
Instead, batteries will be inside cases to comply with the EU’s new removable battery rule.
Probably way off, but fun to think about.
This is just making the iPhone lineup even more confusing… Standard, Plus, Pro, Pro Max, the ‘e’, and now the Air?
They probably won’t even release half of these models. Apple leaks always hype up a bunch of different versions that never see the light of day.
The 16e should’ve been the next SE—a proper small iPhone like the 13 Mini.
The 16 should’ve been the cheaper regular-sized model, and the 16 Pro the premium version.
Why is this so hard to get? Why would I buy a 16e when I can get a 14 or 15 on sale?
Can we finally get rid of that stupid notch? Oh, sorry… ‘island.’
It’s really not that complicated, Apple.
Why does this look like a Google Pixel knockoff?
