I spent my holiday playing Call of Duty on high settings at 120 FPS and watching some YouTube. I ended up with about 20% battery at the end of the day with a decent screen-on time.
If you haven’t updated yet, don’t! I have a 15 Pro Max too, and with iOS 18, I got maybe 6 hours of screen-on time. I went back to iOS 17, and now I get closer to 14 hours.

I’m currently on iOS 18.1, and I haven’t noticed any dips in battery life, but thanks for the tip.
@Teo
That’s awesome! I’m glad it’s working well for you! I love how iOS 18 looks, but it feels clunky for me.

I get that. I’m not a fan of the new Siri either. I lost the ability to let Siri pick up calls on speakerphone, which was really useful when my hands were wet. I think iOS 17 is more polished overall. Hope you find your fix for iOS 18 .
@Teo
It might be an accessibility feature now with the update. There are a few hidden things, like music haptics, which are fantastic! Going back was the fix I needed. It’s crazy how many different issues people have with the same phone on iOS 18! I’ll stick with it on my XR, and if it smooths out, I might give iOS 18 another try. My biggest worry is that when I go back to 18, the iOS 17 betas won’t be signed anymore, and I’ll be stuck with iOS 18.

What do you mean by ‘went back to 17’? That’s not possible.
@Blake
It most certainly is! I downgraded from iOS 18.1 beta to iOS 17.6 beta 3.

I really wish iOS 17 was still available. If it were, I would downgrade right away.
@Jody
You can still revert to iOS 17.6.3 beta on ipsw.dev! That’s what I did. I went from 18.1 beta 2 back to iOS 17.6.1. The betas are still signed. You can restore to a beta, then update to 17.7.2 which just released.
@Fin
Is it available on IPSWME beta?
Yes, it is.
I got it! Thank you, you’re a legend .

No problem at all! Happy to help .
It’s on powder, not on ipsw.me. The process is the same though.
A fellow gamer, huh?
