I got a refurbished iPhone 13 Pro from what seemed like a trusted seller on this forum’s marketplace. The phone works fine, but I keep getting these two notifications in my settings. Should I be worried about this?
Just return it. It’s not worth the trouble.
Yeah, it probably means there are non-official parts in there. If the seller didn’t tell you about this, I’d definitely return it.
That usually means the phone has non-Apple parts installed.

Maybe they swapped out the Apple parts for something cheaper.

Or something worse. Heard of phones being repaired with random low-quality parts.

That’s just bad news waiting to happen.
I’d say return the phone if you can.
“Trusted seller” and “marketplace” rarely go well together.

For real. People show up here like, “I bought this phone from a reliable guy selling loose phones from a cardboard box outside a gas station. He swore it was legit, but now it’s just a brick with a sticker on it. Will my warranty cover this?”
I’ve dealt with this before. Even with a real part like a screen, you might still get notifications. If parts are moved from one iPhone to another but are still genuine, they should pass the calibration. It’s usually fine unless it completely fails calibration.
@Sage
I bought a refurbished iPhone 12 with a genuine screen, and it shows the same thing in settings. Everything still works well, including true tone.

Exactly. As long as the parts are genuine and pass calibration, there’s nothing to stress about. But if they don’t, then you might want to return it.
It’s just a sign there are non-genuine parts. If everything’s working and you have a warranty, you should be fine.

But what if you don’t have a warranty? I got a used 13 Pro with no warranty, but everything works perfectly. Should I even bother?
@Fox
A warranty matters because if something like the battery or camera stops working in a month, at least you’re covered for repairs.
Sounds like you got a fake part in there, mate.

Not necessarily. It could just be that the calibration process wasn’t done properly.
Those notifications will stay there. Just ignore them if everything else is working fine.
You might have to put the phone in service mode and try running the calibration process. That usually clears it up if the parts are legit.
