Any new MacBook Pro rumors floating around

I have an M1 MacBook Air and it meets all my needs. But I wish I had a better screen. I love the 120Hz refresh rate and mini-LED display on my iPad Pro. So I can hold off on getting a new MacBook for a while.

Are there any whispers about the next MacBook Pro, especially concerning the notch? Also, are there any talks about a touchscreen? I don’t mind the notch, but I hope it looks better in the next version, maybe angled and smaller or something like Dynamic Island.

I really don’t think we’ll see a touchscreen anytime soon.

Looks like we might not see a 17-inch version again. No one ever talks about it or seems to care.

Bloomberg has reported that Apple might be working on a touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro, looking at a 2025 or 2026 release.

Regarding the notch, Apple is said to be considering Face ID for the MacBook Pro, possibly in fall 2024, but that might take longer.

Honestly, I don’t expect a touchscreen on the MacBook Pro.

MacBooks usually get redesigns about every 7 years. We’re just 3 years into the current design, so don’t expect big changes for a while.

I doubt Apple will ever make a touchscreen MacBook since they’ve said many times that a touchscreen laptop doesn’t fit well with its usage. If you want a touchscreen experience, you’ll have to get an iPad and use it with sidecar.

There will most likely not be a touchscreen.

The MacBooks coming out with the new iPads are probably going to be Air models.

They won’t have features like the mini-LED display or ProMotion.

It’s likely to just be more of the same, with a different chip.

If you’re looking for something better, consider the M3/M3 Pro/M3 Max.

I have the 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro and I think it’s fantastic.

I also own the 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro, but honestly, my MacBook Pro is much better.

I haven’t really used my iPad much in the last few months.

The MacBook allows me to do so much more than the iPhone or iPad could.

While these MacBooks are worth considering, that doesn’t mean you should upgrade right now.

If you can wait, I suggest holding off, especially for the new Air models coming soon.

Save your money for the M4 MacBook Pro or M4 Pro MacBook Pro later this year.

I don’t plan on upgrading my MacBook for at least 3 years, maybe 2 if something really exciting like OLED comes out.

I’m not really into touchscreen laptops. Tablets do that job just fine.

I get that, but I think some people want it. If the MacBook Pro screen could support Apple Pencil and fold down, it might be good for drawing.

Apple will likely never make a touchscreen MacBook Pro. It would clash with the iPad lineup and make people question why they wouldn’t just buy a MacBook Pro with longer battery life instead of an iPad.

And if they do create one, the price will surely be very high due to the potential drop in iPad sales.

I see your point. You have your view.

For heavy users like me, tablets are pretty much only useful for writing by hand, which I only do a tiny bit. I would really like a well-made touchscreen MacBook. Most touchscreen laptops out there are not good, which gives them a bad reputation.

If your Air is doing the job for you, I’d stick with it and wait for what’s next.

Rumors are always changing. Analysts keep shifting their opinions. That’s why we hear a lot of buzz about what’s coming. They usually get it right about a day before Apple announces something.

Yeah, that’s my plan. The Air meets all my needs. I’m just really after that 120Hz mini-LED screen.

I’ll definitely hang tight and see what Apple has coming up for the Mac.
